Awards & Recognition

Science Project Gold Award - ASPIRE Virtual Research Institute

In June 2023 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, I was awarded the prestigious Science Project Gold Award at the ASPIRE Virtual Research Institute Sustainability Leadership Workshop in collaboration with Khalifa University. This recognition honored my innovative work on developing a flow redux battery solution for solar energy storage, which I presented as part of a collaborative team. The project addressed one of renewable energy's most critical challenges - efficient and scalable energy storage. Our flow redux battery design offered significant advantages including enhanced scalability for large-scale solar installations, longer lifespan with minimal degradation, cost-effective grid-scale implementation, and environmentally sustainable materials. This achievement demonstrated my ability to combine theoretical knowledge with practical innovation while working effectively in a team environment to solve complex sustainability challenges. The experience showcased my commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies and contributing to the global transition toward sustainable energy systems.

Youth 4 Sustainability Certificate - Abu Dhabi Sustainability week

From January 12-16, 2020 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, I participated in the Youth 4 Sustainability Hub during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where I was recognized for my outstanding involvement and contributions. This global platform brought together over 3,000 young sustainability leaders from around the world, focusing on six key pillars: Energy & Climate Change, Water & Food, the Future of Mobility, Space, Biotechnology in Health, and Technology for Good. During this intensive program, I engaged with world leaders and policymakers shaping global sustainability policies, participated in interactive workshops on implementing UN Sustainable Development Goals, and explored innovation showcases featuring cutting-edge climate technologies. My active participation in networking sessions connected me with industry pioneers and fellow youth leaders committed to driving climate action. This experience strengthened my understanding of global sustainability challenges and equipped me with the skills to advocate for environmental policies and lead community-based sustainability initiatives, reinforcing my commitment to becoming a changemaker in the sustainability sector.

Innovation 4 Climate Competition - COP28 Edition

In December 2023 in Dubai, UAE, I participated in the prestigious Innovate 4 Climate (I4C) Competition during COP28, where my team and I were selected as finalists from among numerous international submissions. The annual competition, hosted by Youth 4 Sustainability under Masdar's initiative, challenged young innovators to develop solutions that accelerate sustainable development and foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. Our project focused on developing an AI-powered HVAC management system for buildings, designed to optimize energy consumption and significantly reduce operational costs. The innovative solution utilized machine learning algorithms to analyze building usage patterns, weather data, and energy consumption metrics to automatically adjust heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for maximum efficiency. Our system demonstrated potential energy savings of up to 30% while maintaining optimal comfort levels for building occupants. Taking place at Masdar's Pavilion in COP28's Green Zone, we pitched our solution to an expert panel of judges alongside other finalist teams on December 6, 2023. This experience enhanced my technical skills in AI application for sustainability, strengthened my ability to work in diverse international teams, and provided invaluable exposure to global climate innovation at the world's premier climate conference.

Young Arab Diplomatic Leaders Program - Climate Negotiation Specialization

On May 30, 2023 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, I was selected to participate in the Young Arab Diplomatic Leaders Program's Skills Bootcamp for Non-Experts, organized by the Arab Youth Center. This intensive three-day training program was designed as an extension of the prestigious Young Arab Diplomatic Leaders initiative, focusing on enhancing the skillset of Arab youth to effectively engage in international discussions and negotiations, particularly in climate diplomacy ahead of COP28. The program equipped me with essential diplomatic skills including policy development, international negotiation techniques, and climate governance frameworks. Through hands-on workshops and simulations, I gained practical experience in multilateral negotiations, understanding the complexities of international climate agreements, and the role of youth in shaping global climate policy. The program, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasized the importance of equipping emerging young talent with advanced diplomatic skills and international representation capabilities. This experience prepared me to represent Arab youth perspectives in international climate forums and strengthened my ability to bridge cultural and policy gaps in global sustainability discussions, positioning me as an advocate for youth-led climate action in diplomatic settings.

Future Sustainability Leaders at ADSW - Youth 4 Sustainability

From January 16-18, 2023 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, I served as a Future Sustainability Leader (FSL) at the Youth 4 Sustainability Hub during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023. Held under the theme of 'Advancing Youth Engagement for Climate Action,' the Y4S Hub attracted over 3,000 participants aged 18 to 35, where I played a pivotal leadership role. As an FSL, I led a significant media production initiative with my team, conducting exclusive interviews with high-profile global leaders on sustainability and climate action. Our production featured in-depth conversations with President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. of Palau, who shared critical perspectives on small island nations facing climate threats, and H.E. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, among other distinguished figures. These interviews explored urgent topics including ocean conservation, renewable energy transition, and climate adaptation strategies for vulnerable nations. Through this production, we amplified youth voices in the global sustainability dialogue and created valuable content that bridged the gap between world leaders and young climate advocates. This experience enhanced my skills in media production, strategic communication, and high-level stakeholder engagement, while demonstrating my ability to lead impactful initiatives that advance climate action through youth empowerment and innovative storytelling.
